Afghanistan joined the IF in 2007 and started work for a Diagnostic Trade Integration Study ("DTIS") with the World Bank as the Lead Agency. The National Steering Committee ("NSC") has been set up and the DTIS will be used to further mainstream trade issues into line ministries. Afghanistan has also prepared a pre-DTIS project to help support the setting up of National Implementation Arrangements ("NIAs") and to build capacity at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in leading the EIF process in Afghanistan.
