Benin's Diagnostic Trade Integration Study ("DTIS") was validated in March 2006. The priority actions identified in the DTIS Action Matrix were incorporated in Benin's Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper ("PRSP"), which was adopted in February 2007. The key DTIS recommendations incorporated in the PRSP included chapters on private sector support, diversification of the economy, promotion of regional integration and transport. Benin also benefited from the IF Window II projects in 2007 including, the implementation of "Support Programme for Exports Development" ("PADEX"). PADEX's objective was to help Benin integrate better into the multilateral trading system by promoting and diversifying its exports, products and services. These included fruits and vegetables, cashew and tourism. Under the EIF, Benin is finalizing its Tier 1 project while undertaking preparations on Tier 2 projects.
