Central African Republic
country profile

The Central African Republic joined the IF in 2006. In November 2007, the Central African Republic validated its Diagnostic Trade Integration Study ("DTIS") and Action Matrix with the implementation of a Window II project in 2008 and 2009, addressing institutional capacity constraints, including the private sector export capacity with a focus on sesame export promotion and setting up the National Implementation Unit ("NIU"). The DTIS also provides a bedrock for its 2007 Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper ("PRSP"). Under the EIF, the Central African Republic has submitted its Tier 1 project, which is undergoing implementation and seeks to develop the Central African Republic's capacities for formulating and mainstreaming of trade policies into economic development and poverty reduction strategies and priorities.
