Chad joined the IF in 2004 and undertook a Diagnostic Trade Integration Study ("DTIS") which was validated in October 2005 and endorsed by the Government in November 2006. Subsequently, Chad benefited from the Window II funding which helped to implement a series of activities, including workshops that were organized in 2009 and 2010 on the following issues; (i) market analysis for the private and public sectors (September to October 2009); (ii) leather value chain analysis (9 to 11 November 2009); (iii) seminar on market access and conformity to standards in the international markets; and (iv) a round table on the establishment of the National Standard Agency (25 November 2009). This Window II project is still under implementation and has been subject to an evaluation exercise. Under the EIF, Chad has submitted a draft Tier 1 proposal.
