Niger undertook a Diagnostic Trade Integration Study ("DTIS") which was validated in 2008. In 2007 Niger prepared a new Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper ("PRSP"), Accelerated Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy ("ADPRS") covering 2008-2012, which indicated that the DTIS study would facilitate the preparation of a sectoral trade development programme, accompanied by an action plan and a medium-term sectoral expenditure framework. Under the EIF, the National Implementation Arrangements ("NIAs") are set up and Niger has submitted its Tier 1 project proposal to be finalized and approved.
