Samoa joined the IF in November 2006 and undertook preparations for a Diagnostic Trade Integration Study ("DTIS"). Preparations to finalize and launch the DTIS are ongoing. Samoa's Strategy for Development of Samoa ("SDS") for 2008‐2012 gives mention to the DTIS and further subsequent implementation of the EIF process, including funding for priority actions. Samoa expressed intent to use the DTIS as input in the development of a National Export Strategy to stimulate exports through encouraging and developing partnership approaches between the public and private sectors. Upon finalization of the DTIS, Samoa plans to develop a multi-year Tier 1 project to support National Implementation Arrangements ("NIAs") and the implementation of the DTIS Action Matrix.
