The goal of this project is to mainstream trade through the Programme for Accelerated Growth and Employment (PAGE), which is The Gambia’s development strategy and investment programme. Trade issues are integrated into Pillar I: Accelerating and Sustaining Economic Growth. Through the PAGE, the Government continues to maintain an open and liberal trading environment in order to better integrate The Gambia into the global economy.

Results

• Supported Tthe Gambia in updating its Medium‑term Plan to be implemented from 2015-2019, acting as the main instrument to integrate trade issues in the PAGE and other sector programmes.
• Agriculture, fisheries, tourism, transports and services sectors have all integrated trade facilitation strategies through the PAGE, including product diversification, commercialization, value addition and quality enhancement.
