Simon Farbenbloom

Simon Farbenbloom took up his position as Australia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the WTO in February 2016.  He has worked on international trade and economic issues with the Australian Government for more than 20 years.  He has previously served in diplomatic positions in Tokyo (1993-1997), Geneva (1999-2003) and Bangkok (2010-2013).

 

Prior to taking up his recent position in Geneva, Simon Farbenbloom worked in the Free Trade Agreements Division in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  He was Deputy Chief Negotiator for Australia’s bilateral free trade agreement negotiations with China, India and Korea.  From 2005-2010, he was a lead negotiator in Australia’s free trade agreement negotiations with ASEAN, China, Japan and Korea.
