Talime Abe

Dr Talime ABE, a Togolese national, was born on June 7, 1972, in Défalé, Togo.

As Director General of Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Crafts, and Local Consumption since February 2022, he is responsible for participating in the development of trade policy and coordinating the implementation of strategies related to domestic trade, foreign trade, e-commerce, and competition, as well as coordinating other activities of the technical departments under his supervision.

Since November 2007: National Focal Point for the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) technical assistance project related to trade of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international organizations in favor of LDCs.

Talime ABE holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Lomé, which he obtained in June 2023.

He also holds a double master's degree in economics (1998) and management sciences (2002) from the University of Lomé. He obtained his postgraduate diploma in banking and finance (DESBF) from the West African Center for Banking Training and Studies (COFEB) of the BCEAO in Dakar, Senegal, in 2005.

Professionally, he began his career in the Togolese administration, notably in the Ministry of Trade in 2003, where he held the positions of research and mission officer in the Foreign Trade Department, head of department in the General Secretariat, Director of Domestic Trade and Competition, and Acting Secretary General.
