M. Antti Piispanen

Mr Antti Piispanen is Commercial Counsellor at the External Economic Relations Department of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. He is currently responsible for cooperation with multilateral agencies that work in the area of trade and development, particularly the EIF, ITC, UNIDO and the technical assistance programmes of the WTO.

 

Mr Piispanen has extensive experience in issues relating to trade and development, and he was responsible for preparing the first Aid for Trade Action Plan for Finland in 2008.

 

Mr Piispanen joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 2007. He also served as Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in Windhoek, Namibia, from 2011 to 2013, where he was responsible for trade relations and development cooperation projects in Namibia. Prior to joining the Ministry, Mr Piispanen worked for the United Nations ESCAP Pacific Operations Centre in Vanuatu and Fiji from 2004 to 2007 and for the Division for Investment, Technology and Enterprise Development in UNCTAD in Geneva from 2001 to 2004. He also worked for the Central Bank of Finland and the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy in Helsinki.

 

Mr Piispanen holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration in Finland. He also studied International Economics at the Kiel Institute for World Economics in Germany.
