His Excellency Amb. Prof. Muhammadou M.O. Kah is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of The Republic of the Gambia to the Swiss confederation & Permanent Representative to the
United Nations Organizations at Geneva (UNOG), World Trade Organization (WTO), and other International organizations in Switzerland.
 

Before his appointment in 2020 as Ambassador and Permanent Representative, he was Vice President for Academic Affairs/Provost at the American University of Nigeria, where he also served as Professor of Information Technology & Computing. He also served as the past Chairman of the Africa Group of Ambassadors at Geneva (April 2021- Sept. 2021); Vice President (Africa) for the UN Human Rights Council (2022 and 2023); Current Chairman for UN Commission on Science and Technology Development (CSTD);Vice Chair, CSTD Working Group on Data Governance; Chair, World Intellectual Property (WIPO ) 9th & 10th Session on High -Level Conversation on IP and Frontier Technologies /AI; a member of the Advisory Board of the UNCTAD Trade and Development Bureau (TDB) (June 2021-July 2023). Amb. Prof. Kah served as one of two Ambassadors who were appointed as Friends of the Chair of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) General Assembly and serves as one of the Vice Chairs of the General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

He has taught in the business schools of Rutgers, Howard, and George Washington universities, as well as served as a Fellow (Non-Resident) at the University of Cambridge’s Judge School of Business. Previously he served as Founding Dean, Chief Technology Officer, and Professor at American University of Nigeria (in conjunction with American University in Washington, D.C.) and subsequently as Vice Chancellor/President/Rector of the University of the Gambia, where he was also Professor of Information Technology & Communications.

He also served as a Board of Trustee member of The American University of Nigeria for over a decade and a Founding Dean and Professor of IT and Communications at the School of Engineering and Information Technology and Vice Rector for Technology and Innovation at ADA University, Baku. Currently, he serves on the Board of Trustees of The African University of Science and Technology in Abuja, Nigeria; a Board of Director at the African Agriculture Technology Foundation in Nairobi, Kenya; a member of the Malabo Montpellier Panel and Visiting Professor (Non-resident), University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACT Afrique Group, Dakar, Senegal. He is a founding Board member of The International Digital Health and AI Research Collaborative (I-DAIR) – Health AI and was Founding Board Chairman of Zenith Bank (the Gambia) for a dozen years.

He served as Chairman of the Africa Group of Ambassadors at Geneva (April 2021- Sept. 2021); Vice President (Africa) for the UN Human Rights Council (2022 and 2023); Vice Chairman of the 34th International Conference of the ICRC; Current Chairman for UN Commission on Science and Technology Development (CSTD); Chairman, World Intellectual Property (WIPO ) 9th & 10th Session High -Level Conversation on IP and Frontier Technologies /AI. He also served as Co-Facilitator of the UN Human Rights Council on Data and AI, New technologies, Digital Divide and Human Rights of the UN Human Rights Council and a member of the Advisory Board of the UNCTAD Trade and Development Bureau (TDB) (June 2021-To date).
Ambassador Prof. Kah holds a BSc., MSc., and Ph.D. in Information Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology. He also holds an MSc. in Finance from George Washington University and a Postgraduate Diploma (DipSI) in Strategy & Innovation from Oxford University’s Said Business School. He was awarded an Honorary Doctoral Degree- Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by the University of The Gambia a year after he completed his tenure as Vice Chancellor of The University of The Gambia. His latest book is Digital Technology 360 (2025), co-authored with Dr. Yale Li, previously Microsoft’s Principal Security Architect. Amb. Prof. Kah has written many peers reviewed Journal articles on technology, information systems, knowledge management, and on ICT for Development, and he has been honored with numerous awards for public service.

Dr Talime ABE, de nationalité togolaise est né le 7 juin 1972 à Défalé au Togo. Directeur Général du Commerce au Ministère du commerce, de l’artisanat et de la consommation locale depuis février 2022, il est chargé, notamment de participer à l’élaboration de la politique du commerce et coordonner la mise en œuvre des stratégies liées au commerce intérieur, au commerce extérieur, au commerce électronique et à la concurrence et de coordonner les autres activités des directions techniques sous sa tutelle. Depuis Novembre 2007 : Point Focal National du projet Cadre Intégré Renforcé (CIR) d’assistance technique liée au commerce de l’Organisation Mondiale du Commerce (OMC) et d’autres organisations internationales en faveur des PMA. Talime ABE, est titulaire d’un Doctorat en sciences économiques depuis juin 2023 de l’Université de Lomé. Il est également titulaire d’une double maîtrise en sciences économiques en 1998 et en sciences de gestion en 2002 à l’université de Lomé. Il obtient son diplôme d’études supérieures bancaires et financières (DESBF) au Centre Ouest Africain de Formation et d’Etudes Bancaires (COFEB) de la BCEAO à Dakar au Sénégal en 2005. Au plan professionnel, il débute sa carrière dans l’administration togolaise notamment au ministère chargé du commerce en 2003 où il a occupé les postes de chargé d’études et de missions à la direction du commerce extérieur, chef service au secrétariat général, directeur du commerce intérieur et de la concurrence et secrétaire général par intérim.

Wendy a rejoint le Secrétariat exécutif du Cadre intégré renforcé au sein de l'OMC en janvier 2025, avec un portefeuille de 16 pays en Afrique et en Asie. 

Dans le cadre de ses fonctions précédentes au Centre du commerce international (ITC), Wendy a contribué à des programmes et initiatives clés, notamment SheTrades qui vise à accroître la participation des femmes entrepreneures au niveau du commerce international.   Elle était en charge de programmes et d'événements qui ont renforcé les capacités de parties prenantes clés ainsi que de plus de 4 000 Micro, petites et moyennes entreprises (MPME) dirigées par des femmes dans les pays du Sud, couvrant des secteurs tels que l’agro-industrie, les produits de beauté, les industries créatives, la mode, les technologies de l'information et de la communication (TIC), le textile et le tourisme. Ces efforts ont permis aux femmes entrepreneures de commercialiser leurs produits, de générer des revenus supplémentaires au profit de leurs communautés et de promouvoir un commerce international plus équitable.  

Wendy a également supervisé des événements internationaux phares de l'ITC, y compris le Sommet SheTrades conjoint OMC-ITC lors du CM13 à Abu Dhabi (2024) avec le lancement du fonds mondial "Women Exporters in the Digital Economy (WEIDE)" d'une valeur de 50 millions de dollars visant à aider les femmes à accéder au commerce international et à l'économie numérique. 

Wendy est titulaire d’une maitrise en études du développement de l'Institut de Hautes études internationales et du développement à Genève, et d'une licence en écologie et gestion du tourisme de l’Université Oxford Brookes.
