Hang Tran

Hang is Senior Coordinator at the Executive Secretariat for the EIF, responsible for the EIF portfolio in the Asia-Pacific and Burkina Faso. Hang is also providing secretariat service for the EIF Board.

Before joining the EIF in August 2011, Hang worked at the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Vietnam from 1995 to July 2011, and served as Deputy Permanent Representative of the Vietnam Mission to the WTO; Director General of the Ministry of Trade of Vietnam; Deputy Director-General of Multilateral Trade Policy Department; and Director of the Multilateral Trade Policy Assistance Programme.

Hang is a Foreign Trade University of Vietnam graduate and holds a Master's degree in Public Management from Singapore University and Kenney School of Government. She was also lecturing on trade negotiation at the National University of Vietnam. Her experience ranges from trade and industrial policies, trade negotiation, regional integration, training, technical assistance, project management and monitoring and evaluation.

Ratnakar Adhikari

Mr Ratnakar Adhikari has been serving the Executive Secretariat for the Enhanced Integrated Framework at the World Trade Organization as its Executive Director since October 2013.

Prior to this assignment, Mr Adhikari was the Chief Executive Director of South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment (SAWTEE), a Kathmandu-based regional think tank. Previously, he served, among other things, as a Senior Adviser to the National Planning Commission, Government of Nepal, and as a Trade Programme Specialist for the United Nations Development Programme, Asia Pacific Regional Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Mr Adhikari has conducted extensive research as well as published in the areas of international trade, regional economic integration, Aid for Trade, competition policy and intellectual property rights, particularly from the perspective of the LDCs.

He obtained his PhD from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom; his Master of International Law and Economics from the World Trade Institute, Switzerland; and his Master of Commerce from the University of Delhi, India.

Zoritsa Urosevic

Zoritsa Urosevic is currently the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Representative to the United Nations in Geneva. She joined the World Tourism Organization in 2006, working in positioning tourism in the development cooperation and trade agenda.

Since LDC IV, UNWTO has launched the Steering Committee on Tourism for Development (SCTD), an alliance of UN entities and the WTO aiming at "Delivering as One for Tourism", and she has been working closely with the EIF. Seeing the importance of tourism for the LDCs, in 2013, UNWTO was invited to join the EIF Board, of which it is a member. Mobilizing the strengths and expertise of UNWTO and the EIF partnership, Zoritsa Urosevic has been strongly advocating for making tourism part of an inclusive and sustainable growth strategy for the LDCs.

She has led the UN consultation process with UNWTO Member States – contributing to the Rio+20 outcome document "The future we want", which acknowledges the importance of tourism in the three dimensions of sustainability; and she participated in the build-up towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, where tourism is included in three Goals. Her innovative and strategic thinking has led to building responses to global challenges and formulating and developing sustainable policies and strategies at the regional, national and corporate levels.

From 1993 to 2004, she worked for the Seychelles at the Ministry of Industry and at the Ministry of Tourism and Transport as Director of International Cooperation, including with UNWTO and other institutions.

Zoritsa Urosevic started her career in France as Export Director for the Société Générale, Groupe SOGEXPORT, in Paris, after having completed Psychology and Business Management studies in Strasbourg.

Ashish Shah

Dr Ashish Shah has been working at ITC for 16 years in different capacities and currently serves as Director, Division of Country Programmes. He previously held the post of Acting Deputy Executive Director. He has also spent several years in the Office for Africa and the Office of the Executive Director, where he was Head of Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation. Prior to joining ITC, he worked first at the International Labour Office in Geneva and then at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

 

Dr Shah is member of the EIF Board, to which he brings more than 20 years of international and United Nations experience in the field of trade promotion and development. His experience in providing strategic advice on trade development issues and engaging in high-level policy dialogues with stakeholders in Africa, Asia and the Arab region has been put at the service of the LDCs to develop and diversify their export bases.

 

Dr Shah leads a team of over 70 staff at ITC, with the majority of them being dedicated to assist the LDCs in strategic planning, project design and management, capacity‑building and resource mobilization. This has allowed ITC to prioritize its cooperation with the LDCs, namely under the EIF framework.

 

Dr Shah holds a Master degree in cooperative economics and a PhD in economics from Philipps University of Marburg, Germany.

Simon Farbenbloom

Simon Farbenbloom took up his position as Australia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the WTO in February 2016.  He has worked on international trade and economic issues with the Australian Government for more than 20 years.  He has previously served in diplomatic positions in Tokyo (1993-1997), Geneva (1999-2003) and Bangkok (2010-2013).

 

Prior to taking up his recent position in Geneva, Simon Farbenbloom worked in the Free Trade Agreements Division in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  He was Deputy Chief Negotiator for Australia’s bilateral free trade agreement negotiations with China, India and Korea.  From 2005-2010, he was a lead negotiator in Australia’s free trade agreement negotiations with ASEAN, China, Japan and Korea.
